Another Taste of Mexico
This is a photo from back in 2008, the first time Journey went cruising to Mexico. The boat was full and overflowing with guests come to wish us Bon Voyage before we set off on our travels. It is a memory we still cherish.

Our Pause in La Paz
During our last stay, fifteen years ago, El Mogote was basically uninhabited. Now they have a golf course on the island, along with high rise condos and luxury vacation homes, and there are plans afoot for a private marina on that side.
As it turned out, we were more than happy to just hang on the hook. For about $1 per day, we could use the dinghy dock at La Paz Marina, and I even took advantage of the offer of hot showers for just one additional dollar per day. Some afternoons it blew pretty hard through the anchorage, but we were totally protected from the swell.
Over the weekend, one of the cruiser's clubs held an event called "Bay Fest." There were various seminars, games (like the blindfolded dinghy race) and music. Jeff took a seminar on Mexican cooking, while I attended a beading class and made myself a bracelet.
Two quick trips to the grocery store and two dinghy-loads full of food took care of our provisioning.
On Monday our son Josh arrived to spend a week down here. The first thing he did after settling on board the boat was to toss the kayak in the water and go exploring. Tuesday morning we set off to visit some of the nearby islands. We will return to La Paz by April 13 since Josh has a flight out the next day.
