MUSIC LESSONS

Lately I've been learning to play the chromatic harmonica. It used to be my Grandpa's, then he gave it to my Dad. For a while I just blew on it, but then my Mom looked up some lessons on the internet. I can already play 2 songs. I've been practicing at a lot of places. I've played it at the swimming pool, on the boat, and lots of different places. One day I was playing the harmonica and a lady said she liked t. I talked to her for a while. I found out she grew up in the same town as my Mom. It was funny. When I play the harmonica I end up meeting a lot of people because they make comments. I like playing the harmonica because when I play I can do well.

BEN'S TALL TALE

Once upon a time there was a tiny elephant about the size of an orange. Every day a little boy named Dan would come out and feed the elephant Cheerios. The little boy and the elephant were good friends. The little boy was unusual like the elephant. The little boy had special powers. He was very strong and he could fly.

After a year of eating Cheerios, the once small elephant ended up bigger than most elephants. One day the elephant ate too many boxes of cereal and he got a stomach ache. The once nice elephant became scared and panicked. He started running all over the place. He started running for town. The little boy raced after the elephant. When they got to town the elephant started destroying everything from hotdog stands to houses.

The little boy had to come up with a plan and quick! He finally thought of a plan. He flew up, grabbed the elephant and took him to the zoo. They gave him medicine for his stomach ache. He calmed down. The zoo put him on a diet. The elephant lived at the zoo happily forever.

ME AND MY DAD FISHING

A couple of days ago my Dad and I went fishing. I caught a grunt. At first we thought it was a snapper but it was really a grunt. My Dad caught 2 rock hind. They were light brown with dark brown spots. The grunt was white with yellow stripes. My Mom cooked the fish. It was good.

On Friday all the boaters at the marina had a pizza party. Most of the boaters brought homemade pizza. We brought Dominoes pizza because our oven isn't working. I liked it because there were lots of different pizzas to try.

We are going to a different church now. The people are from many different places like Canada, Scotland, Bahamas, Poland, Germany, Australia, Wales, England, United States etc. It is a Scottish Presbyterian church. You can hear the pastor's accent when he's speaking. It's pretty cool. On New Year's Day we went with the pastor's family to the beach. We played a bunch of ball games. We went swimming at the beach. We jumped off the high wall into the canal. That night we had supper at their house and went to Junkanoo. Junkanoo is a parade in the Bahamas. They wear big costumes made from paper mache, cardboard, glue, sequins, and sparkles. They dance around. They play instruments like trumpets, cow bells, and drums. Some of the costumes weigh up to 135 pounds. There's a contest between the groups, to see who the best is.

FUN

On Friday our friend Mia invited us to her school for a Christmas festival. It was fun. Every class did their own songs on the stage. Some had hand movements. They had lots of games. I also got cotton candy and conch (pronounced konk) fritters. Conch is a sea creature that lives in a shell in the ocean. It tastes really, really, really good.

On Saturday we went to another Christmas festival. I won the tug of war. The rope broke in half so both sides won. I got a free t-shirt for winning. They also had a May Pole. A bunch of kids each had a ribbon attached to the pole. They all ran in a circle. The kids weaved in and out and went opposite directions. The ribbons made a really cool design on the pole.

About a week ago I lost my wallet. I left it on the bus. A couple of days ago my dad found the bus driver. The bus driver gave it back.

The Storm

Yesterday it was really windy. The palm trees looked like they were going to fall over. The basketball net in the tennis court and the one across the street blew over. The boat rocked a lot. There was a lot of creaking because the boat was banging against the dock. Daddy adjusted the lines so we wouldn't slam into the dock anymore.

Today we saw a crab. Jacquie took a video of it. The crab climbed under the dock. Daddy got a wire and pulled it out so we could see it.

Today we're going to decorate for Christmas. We have already put up a two foot tall Christmas tree that is made of cardboard. We had to build it from a kit. We keep it on the kitchen table. When we do the rest of the decorating we will get to eat snacks and listen to Christmas music. It will be fun.

We're In The Bahamas

Hi. We're in the Bahamas. We sailed from Bimini Bahamas a couple nights ago. It was really rocky. My sister threw up twice. Yesterday we went on a dinghy ride. A dinghy is a small boat to go to shore when anchored out. I got to drive. It was fun. We saw a sunken ship. It was cool. We also swam in the pool. When we were in Bimini we swam in the ocean. It was easy to see the bottom.
