Som ni vet är vi redo att segla till Chile. Vi hade tänkt lämna Huahine på torsdag. Bob från www.metbob.com gav klartecknet. ett bra väderfönster finns hela vägen ner till 30 grader south.

Vi tog kontakt med Valdivia för säkerhetsskull. Svaret kom efter några timmar:

Chile har stängt den maritima gränsen på grund av Omikron varianten. Vi lämnar inte Polynesien om vi inte är absolut säkert på att vi är välkomna i Chile. Plan B är Australöarna och cykla på Tahiti. Eventuellt seglar vi till Chile om landet öppnar innan februari.

Vi lämnar Huahine för Ravaivae på torsdag

As you know, we are ready to sail to Chile. We had planned to leave Huahine on Thursday. Bob from www.metbob.com gave the go-ahead. A good weather window is all the way down to 30 degrees south.

We contacted Valdivia just in case. The answer came after a few hours:

Chile has closed the maritime border because of the Omicron variant. We don't leave Polynesia unless we are absolutely sure we are welcome in Chile. Plan B is the Austral Islands and cycling on Tahiti. Possibly we'll sail to Chile if it opens before February.

We leave Huahine for Ravaivae on Thursday.
