Well last time we were headed to Nassau to wait for good weather to return to the States. Well, we were in Nassau for over 2 weeks. The weather must be more specific for crossing back to the states than going most places. We finally had a weather window that allowed us to leave Nassau on Tuesday, March 11, sail 8-9 hours across the Tongue of the Ocean, then another 8-10 hours across the Great Bahama Bank to a group of uninhabited rocks on the edge of the Bank. We were going to continue across the Atlantic straight to the U.S. but the weather changed. That night the wind was coming out of the north at 10-20. That is not crossing weather, so we anchored out at the rocks for a night. We finally left on thursday, March 13 and arrived in Marathon, Florida the next afternoon.

We left Marathon for Sanibel Island. The weather was forecast as desirable, however, we got rough weather in the gulf as seems to be our luck. At 3:00 in the morning, the winds started piping and the seas became angry.

Now we are working our way north through the Intercoastal Waterway until the weather in the Gulf is desirable to cross to Panama City. That might be as early as this Friday evening or Saturday morning.

Will keep you posted on our progress. We miss our families and look forward to getting home.
