Sailing Big Sky

The Log of Cielo Grande Expeditions and S/V Big Sky

Anacortes to San Francisco

Amy, Alex, Erdo and Pete departed late morning Sept 21 for Neah Bay to wait out a weather window. By the time we got there, the window was open and we motor sailed thru. Wind began to develop half way down WA coast and offered a nice 15 knts to fly our new spinnaker from Ballard Sails with our sailmaker Alex on board.

Wind continued to build, topping out around 30 kts and then steadied in the high 20's for a nice ride south. Doused kite before dark and sailed reefed main only hitting 9s and 10s all night.

As we approach San Francisco breeze has laid down and we carry on under Perkins.
