Sailing Big Sky

The Log of Cielo Grande Expeditions and S/V Big Sky

San Francisco Bay

We arrived at the Golden Gate the morning of Sept 26 to the usual cool sea layer. After a brief tie up on a Sausalito YC buoy to get offshore gear sorted and make a plan we headed to Richmond YC for a night at their retro club on the NE corner of the Bay. Dinner at the Up and Under Pub to celebrate a fast and safe passage.

Tuesday morning we made our way down bay to Emeryville (Berkeley area) and Emery Cove Yacht Harbor where we’ve been before. Alex and Erdo caught an Uber to OAK and the real world. Was great to have Alex and Erdo on the first leg of this voyage. Alex, Joe and crew at Ballard Sails have made this voyage possible, helping us with rigging, sails, steering and even loaning us a vehicle! Can’t say enough about Ballard Sails! Was a pleasure to get to know Erdo and looking forward to having him back on Big Sky soon!

For us, work on the boat resumed right away with Amy sewing a new cover for the forward cabin berth cushion and Pete working on the engine driven water pump that supplies water for refrigeration cooling and watermaker. Seems maybe a bad seal?
