Day 14

We explore the docks and areas around. These docks are huge. We walk miles. Found a Starbucks in town.

Day 10

Day 10
Alarm goes off at 6 am and as I tune into the radio the Poobah is doing the roll call already.
We up anchor and head out of the bay.
One last look back at dawn confirms my thoughts.
A wonderful sight. Definitely my favourite stop.
Light winds till about 10 when we get 9 or 10 knots of wind.
We get the spinnaker sail up and as she catches the breeze we turn the motor off again.
Peace at last and what a lovely sight she is.
She flails a little but gently pulls us along at a steady 4 knots.
So that's O K.
The wind builds a little and we get 5 then 6 knots.
Wow what a sight.
Many boats now have their spinnakers up.
We are able to hold that sail up till supper time.
Best day of sailing so far in my opinion.
We decide to put up the Genoa for over night then discover the Whisker pole is on up side down.
We opt not to try to turn it around out here at sea.
I would like the dock or a secure anchorage for that.
We had it repaired in San Diego and this is the first time we have set to use it only to find we can't.
We run the sail anyway and it's fine as usual till about midnight when the winds drop below 6 knots and our boat speed is below 2 knots.
I turn the motor on again.
We have to keep the revs down to 2 200 to maximize the fuel consumption as we haven't been able to buy fuel since we left the states.
We can get fuel in Cabo but need to get there first.
We are still 24 hours away and who knows if the winds will pick up or not.
We putter along at a steady 6 knots.
I came out for shift at 23 00 with jeans on and a long sleeve shirt. I don't want to be cold but soon I have the shirt off opting for a t shirt instead. It's a lovely night out here.
On the motor again till morning.
