The money just keeps leeching out !

The old freezer chest on here had seen better days and hasnt worked in years , so sammy and me fed up with warm beers decided to DIY US A NEW FRIDGE .

D .I. Y .... As in Y did i bloody start this ? £1500 later and the freezer is a fridge , the beer is still under the sink and sam is off home

I bought the components in, after recommendations from numerous web sites, so far the fridge come freezer simply hasn't come up to scratch, the manufacturers say its an insulation problem and i need to rebuild the box, but its 4 inches thick and foam filled....how much bloody insulation does it need!

Then they said as it was frosting up that the door seal wasn't adequate, so i bought some sticky foam tape and replaced the door seal , guess what ... Its exactly the same!

Then they said I had measured the dimensions incorrectly and the freezer unit wasn't intended for a box that big - It was one of their engineers that measured it up !

They want to send an engineer to inspect it and charge £84 an hour , so far I have just left it, but when the climate warms up as we head South, I will want a fridge that works.

Bring on summer - cold beer .... NOT!
