Spain - Ibiza - Cala Basa
22 July 2014
Cala Basa is (according to the pilot book) a place of quiet reflection , a place of inward self assessment , somewhere quiet and peaceful where you can rest and relax and enjoy natures pleasures ....
IE hire a jet ski or go on a doughnut ! Granted it does quite down at night and the swell did eventually stop rolling us to sleep, the morning saw an unannounced by passage weather wind shift to North East and everybody left en masse when it went up to twenty knots plus.
I would go back but maybe wait for late September ? The day trip boats , the spinning jet boats , they all invade what was meant to be a place of zen, so now it's a normal Cala which is a shame.
The anchorage is pushed out into deeper water by the addition of a safe swim zone, this extends quite some way out into the cala , so much so we were anchored in 11 meters of water on a weedy bottom and we were front row.
