AKSUNA YACHTING BLUE VOYAGE TOUR

24 December 2006 | Kemer - Antalya - Turkey
halitoglu
Blue voyage

The Blue Voyage is a sailing/motoring cruise on any stretch of the cleanest waters in the world between Bodrum to Antalya, where deep blue mingles with the green of the evergreen forest covered coastline. Ancient cities such as Knidos, Caunos, Telmessos, Antiphellos, Myra, Olympus, Phaselis and the rock-tombs in the Lycian cities are there for your exploration if requested and your yacht could be sailing through from the antique regions of Karia, the Lycian and then on to the Pamphylia region. Everyday a new cove, a new bay to be explored. Endless natural beauty and history are enjoyed whilst cruising under the Mediterranean sun.

As the Mediterranean coastline of Turkey is a treasure-chest of coves, inlets, bays and beaches, yachtsmen can easily choose a different and private anchorage each night. For lovers of the active life, sailing in the clear waters provides great opportunities for swimming, fishing, water skiing, wind surfing and diving.

It also allows you to experience a truly enriching cultural exchange with the hospitable and gracious people of the coastal villages and towns. The tempered winds which generally blow from the west and northwest make the long summers ideal for the blue voyage. From some of the Turquoise coast's unspoiled and sheltered bays you can see mountain peaks rising to almost 3000 meters above sea level.

The pleasure of ''Blue Voyaging'' in Turkey will tempt you to return again and again, to explore yet another stretch of coast and to relieve the luxurious ease of life on the sea.

Life On Board
The modern gulets are equipped as comfortably as many small hotels, with generators and deep freeze. They offer the perfect atmosphere for a lazy holiday in which you are expected to do nothing that you do not wish to do. Days are spent swimming or exploring the turquoise deep with your snorkel, reading your favorite novel, trying the delicious Turkish cuisine, drinking something wonderful, sun bathing, windsurfing, playing cards and generally relaxing.

Water and jet skis are available for rent from most beaches and land trips to plenty of ancient ruins are extras. You can even fish for your supper which the cook will gladly prepare for you. Mealtimes are another form of entertainment with exquisite Turkish cuisine and wonderful conversation. Having a meal under the stars on a calm sea gently lapping the sides of the boat is an experience not to be missed. It is like a holiday in a hotel with all the rooms overlooking the sea but every day the scenery changes. For those who prefer a different view each day and are prepared for the changing moods of Mother Nature then a holiday on a gulet is the perfect solution.

What to bring with you ?
You only need casual wear; non slip foot wear, your swimming gear, a sun hat, some T-shirts and shorts, a sweater for cool evenings excursions and walks, blue jeans and strong footwear. Instead of one large suitcase, we recommend that you use two smallish soft bags as they are far more convenient when it comes to stowing them away in your cabin. What else? Some towels, a mini first aid kit including antihistamine cream plus toiletries.

Soap, one hand towel each plus bedding is provided. For the gentlemen who don't want to grow a holiday beard, a battery operated razor and shaving soap is essential. Please be forewarned that electrical appliances may only be connected whilst the yacht is tied up in port, so please have everything readily recharged.

Security
With the safety and enjoyment she offers, a gulet is the best initiation to yachting. Anyone can travel on a gulet. The crew is accustomed to the needs of the new passengers. The greatest phobia of landlubbers-seasickness-may start in a few hours but normally will soon disappear very quickly. The blue voyage consists of motoring or sailing stretches of that keep the yacht motoring or sailing for only 2 to 4 hours per day, from one secure bay to another.

Your Crew
On a gulet, the crew is responsible for serving the passengers, as well as running the yacht. Crews usually consist of a Captain, Cook and Seaman/Mechanic and on the larger gulets a fourth crew member will be at your service. They are very friendly ensuring a relaxed atmosphere but at the same time extremely professional knowing the coastal waters and their yachts inside out. Due to their life on the sea, the crew members have a mind of information on the local history and surroundings being able to advise (using their practical language skills) on the best places to snorkel and anchor etc. Also you can get some super tips from the cook on local cuisine. Of course they are all water sport lovers and some even good divers. The crew will be glad to help out as far as their duties will permit and are there to give you an unforgettable Blue Voyage making you want to return just as the majority of our clients do.

Complete Yacht Charter
For families and for friends who wish to join up for a private cruise, the chartering of the entire yacht, including crew is advantageous in every respect. As a private party, you are free to charter the yacht of your choice for any agreed period of time and you may also determine the route. You may provide the provisions or you can let Eser do the shopping thus saving you all that unnecessary hassle in the heat by just paying the daily rate for full board. There are no sailing grounds more beautiful than the entire Turkish Coast between Bodrum to the north-west of Marmaris and Antalya to the south-east.

We'll provide only the basics of your voyage's program and then you'll be free to settle the rest of the details together with the Captain during the cruise. He will be happy to comply with your wishes, weather permitting.

Days on board are always eventful and may differ greatly from each other depending on what Mother Nature has to offer. Quiet little bays with crystal clear waters or a lusty wind favorite for sailing, some ancient ruins beckoning on a hillside or a busy quaint little seaside town which you might like to visit.

You can just let yourself drift along from day to day permitting the yacht to take the strain and enjoy the cruise in complete relaxation. All this adding up to make a perfectly special "Blue Voyage".

Cabin Charter
Cruises for singles or couples are great fun. They are designed for people who wish to make the holiday a totally new experience alongside new friends. Such cruises are often multi-national affairs, which make them especially interesting. These 'Blue Voyages" always start and finish on Saturdays in Marmaris. Boarding starting at 15:00 hours depending on flight arrivals. The yacht actually leaves the harbour on Sunday morning after breakfast.

Although following a set route, no place is visited twice during any cruise, so that your last day on board will be as interesting as your first. Full board is included in the price, served in an open buffet style with beverages and alcoholic drinks being bought from the yacht's bar. Please note that any land tours will be at an extra charge and are optional.

First we'll be taken to the ruins of ancient Caunos and then we'll go on upriver to the sulfur mud baths which are great fun. On our return into the delta, we may spend some time on the extensive, sandy beaches of Dalyan and bathe in the shallows there before our boat takes us back to our yacht. On the beaches of Dalyan no visitors are permitted after nightfall because these are one of the last breeding grounds of the Mediterranean sea turtle.
DAY 4 : We are going to weigh anchor very early in the morning so that we may catch the strong wind which is usually blowing off Dalaman beach in the first hours of the day. We'll sail on to Gemili Island. This is a perfect place for the explorers amongst you. It is covered with ruins, some Byzantanic, some much older, but history knows nothing about the people who lived there.
DAY 5 : Today's destination is the little harbour of Kalkan, which we'll reach at some time in the afternoon. There we'll have the chance to rent a minibus which will take us to Xanthos, once the most important town of Lycia, then to the ancient holy place, Letoon and last of all to Patara, a Lycian harbour town, half buried under huge sand dunes.
DAY 6 : Today we'll set course for Kekova with its wealth of beautiful bays and islands, many of them with traces of continuous inhabitation for more than 200 years. Through the clear water you can recognize ancient ruins on the bottom of the sea and you can feast your eyes on the impressive castle which the Lycians built, the Romans have enlarged and the Selchuks have restored. For the night we'll anchor at Gkgemili, a little bay on the eastern tip of Kekova Island.
DAY 7 : In the morning we'll weigh anchor for an excursion to ancient Myra with its Lycian rock tombs and its great Roman Theatre and to the church of St. Nicholas in Demre. Then a trip to beautiful Arycanda is possible, a Lycian town built on seven terraces high up in the mountains. On our way down, we may stop by a fish farm and purchase fresh mountain trout for tonight's dinner.

DAY 8 : This day is mainly dedicated to swimming, snorkeling and windsurfing in the quiet bays of Kekova. In the afternoon we'll go on to Kas, a quaint little Mediterranean town. There, we'll stay for the night and explore the many tiny souvenir shops and lovely little bars with live music
DAY 9 : Today we are going to spend more time than usual underway, because we have to cover a distance of 60 sea miles to our next destination, the famous lagoon "Oldeniz", with its turquoise water and snow white sandy beach. For the night we'll drop anchor in one of the nearby coves.
DAY 10 : After breakfast we'll set course for Fethiye Bay. In the evening we'll make fast in Fethiye's marina. The town is a lively touristic centre with may shops and open air lively touristic centre with may ships and open air restaurants lining the streets. Of course there is also a disco. The Lycian graves in the rock wall in the back of the town, amongst them the tomb of Prince Amyntas, constitute a striking contrast to the modern architecture of today's Fethiye.
DAY 11 : In the morning we'll depart from Fethiye for the Yassica Islands in the western part of the bay where we shall spend some time swimming and windsurfing. For the night we'll anchor in Tersane Island. Many centuries ago the people who lived in this region used to build their wooden ships here. Some ruins of the old shipyards are still visible.
DAY 12 : There is such a wealth of beautiful little bays, many of them with the forest coming right down to the edge of the water, which it is difficult to choose amongst them. We'll simply unfurl the sails and see in which direction the wind takes us.
DAY 13 : Our last stop within Fethiye Bay is Diibilmez. That's a paradise for snorkeling fans. People who are fond of hiking are attracted by Aga Limani and the hilly forested country surrounding it.
DAY 14 : On our way to Marmaris, we'll stop behind Nimara Island for lunch. There we'll put in some more hours of swimming and snorkeling before we'll have to weigh anchor for Marmaris in time to arrive whilst the sun is setting.
DAY 15 : It's time for our last breakfast on board then to say good bye until we meet again - some other time - for another cruise.

TURKEY CHARTER BLUE VOYAGE TOUR

15 November 2006 | Fethiye - Mugla - Turkey
halitoglu
WHAT IS A GULET?

Imagine wooden sailing boats thousands of years ago carrying cargos of wine and copper across the Aegean to trade with ancient civilization, or fishing boat earning a living from the Mediterranean teerning with fish. Such boats were built along the Aegean coast of Turkey and many of the skills and designs used then have been passed down to today's boat builders.

The Turkish gullet is very similar to the working boats of old times and, equipped with engines and modem facilities, they allow you to explore the beautiful Turkish coast in comfort and style and relive sprint an age long past.

Poseidon A gulets, from 33 meters long, are also very wide, so there is plenty of space below for large cabins and above for you to sunbathe, sit under the shade of a sun awning and eat outside comfortably around a dining table on the aft deck. 8-20 people can be accommodated in double cabins, all with private shower and wc. Even with up 20 guests the tanks provide plenty of water for hot showers. Still there is room for a fully equipped galley, where the cook prepares your meals from the freshest local produce.

What could be more romantic than cruising on a traditional wooden boat with all the sails up under blue cloudless skies? Holidays, are on a full board basis. All this should be packed into a soft bag, not a suitcase, which can be folded and stowed away to give more room in your cabin.

The Mediterranean sun is very bright and on a moving boat hotter than you think, be sure to pack sunglasses, a good suntan lotion and a hat. If mosquitoes find you tasty then bring mosquito repellant and a camera is an absolute must. Small touches that our guests, feel as though they are on a floating, five star hotel. Specially selected stoneware plates, granite galley counters, creative dinner settings, oversized wine glasses, custom bathrobes, fine linens, a selection of music CDs and books complement the first class service provided by her highly experienced crew.

CARNATION CRUISING

15 November 2006 | Fethiye - Mugla - Turkey
halitoglu
Carnation Cruising built on 2003 in Fethiye, Turkey. First charter yacht 'Black Carnation' has been in daily, overnight and weekly trips on first season.
We bought 'Red Carnation' Yacht at the end of the successful season and start to 2004 blue cruise season with two yachts. 'Carnation Cruising' wish to be best of the blue cruising. We don't want to sell cabin. We expect family and friendly grubs for enjoyable and comfortable holidays with delicious Turkish foods.

If you hear about Turkey, you will also have information about Oldeniz. Oldeniz is one of the most beautiful lagoons in the world. Closed to the waves of the high seas, the water hardly stirs there. On the way to Oldeniz, there are attractive districts covered with pine trees, at distance of 6 kilometers from Fethiye. One of them is Hisarn. Hisarn can be reached by road leading to the Oldeniz to the right just after Ovacik. In Ovacik and Hisarn there are numerous hotels, boarding houses and holiday villages. Hisarn is an ideal spot for those seeking to spend holiday in nature among the pine trees, close to the sea.

WHAT IS A TURKISH GULET?
A gulet is a traditional handmade wooden boat equipped with masts. The most common gulets have 6 to 8 double cabins and so accommodate max.12 to 16 passengers. Unlike cruises on large ocean liners, on a gulet you can explore the secluded and often deserted bays, coves and islands of the spectacular Turkish coastline. You will see a hidden Turkey, beautiful beyond belief, and most of it completely unseen by the average tourist! During the day there are plenty of chances to swim and snorkel in the clear blue waters or explore the natural and historical sites along the way.

Features of a gulet include an interior salon/bar area and a fully equipped galley. All cabins have en-suite with hot and cold running water. There are 1 or 2 sundecks with comfortable sunbeds and a canopied aft deck with cushioned seating, freezers to keep drinks cold, and a CD/cassette player. The gulets come with facilities for outdoor and indoor dining. Also a dinghy with outboard, a ship-to-shore radio, mobile telephone and life jackets are on board. All the boats are government approved with fully qualified captains. No experience of boats is required. All you need to do is relax!

WHAT IS THE BLUE VOYAGE?
The Blue Voyage is the surest way to get rid of all of your blues, but that is not really how the name was coined... Originated in Bodrum in the late 1950's by groups of writers, painters, and others interested in natural beauty and historical sites, the Blue Voyage started in the Gulf of Gkova and later extended to include the more distant southern shores of Turkey.

WHAT IS A CREWED YACHT CHARTER?
A crewed yacht charter is the hire of a complete yacht, with captain and crew, for a specific period of time (usually one or more weeks). The route of the cruise is subject to agreement between the contracting parties,as are the ports of embarkation and disembarkation. The charter fee does not include the cost of food but does include its preparation and service.
