Blue Eagle has landed
25 October 2012 | Broken Bay
Wayne and Julian
All journeys come to an end and so has the first flight of Blue Eagle. At 17:45 EST on Thursday the 25th Of October Blue Eagle entered Broken Bay after 700 Nm (1,500 km) of cruising the east coast of Australia. There are a few people Julian and I would like to give special thanks to for this journey. Geoffrey and Michael have been fabulous companions, an enormous asset to the journey with their boating experience and advice, fantastic cooks and wine connoisseurs, wicked canasta partners and most of all fantastic fun. Without their generosity and hospitality on their boat Atlanta we probably would not have considered a life with Blue Eagle, and for that we are truly indebted to you both. Thank you. To Bev our part time crew and Helen, her partner who was desperate to come but unable to make it, thank you for your involvement and engagement in our adventure and we look forward to many more in the future. To our long suffering mothers Joan and Judith, thank you for your support and counsel, we hope the worry of those night time sailings, was softened by the knowledge of the care we took in our planning and the incredible experience we have shared. To Jon (alias Malabar Barbie) who worked so hard with us on preparing the boat for her trip south, thank you, your help was invaluable and greatly appreciated. Lastly, to all of you on the blog who have observed, interacted and involved yourselves in the adventure of our lives, thank you for being part of it.
This is Blue Eagle logging off - over and out.
