Moray eel 3, Jo 0

12 May 2011
This is our third bay on Tahuatua, and the attractive beach here draws crowds of yachts. Looks like we will be here for a few days while I recover from the lacerations inflicted by a moray during my snorkel yesterday. I didn't see him lurking behind a pencil urchin, and he clamped down on 3 fingers when I tried to touch it. All the pieces are still attached, although they are now held on with 2 packets of steristrips. The worst part is I couldn't get in and swim with the manta rays that circled the boat this morning. Rob played for an hour and they even touched his hand as they glided past.
