I had a short day today because of the late start caused by the rear wheel repair in Owensboro, but I reached the excellent county park called Vastwood near the town of Hawesville, ky, also on the Ohio, at a reasonable hour. This park was the best of both worlds: it was a pleasant rural lake setting with a quiet, beautiful campground, but it included a hopping little pizza restaurant, Galaxy Pizza, with an enthusiastic and incredibly helpful owner and staff (pictured). I ate a lot of pizza and drank a lot of soda (free refills) until bedtime.
