Day two
12 September 2012
Day Two.
Today we are sailing over to Cojo . Checking the weathers his morning we find light wins of less than 10 knots out of the NNE
We departed Santa Barbara at 0800 and sail up to Cojo dropping anchor at 330. Most of the sail was perfect until about 2pm and the winds picked up to 25 knots.
We had many dolphin sittings and with my fishing line out, I was able to catch a seagull. I reeled him in, removed the hook and he flew off.
Dropping anchor was easy and we are out of the main wind in 25 feet of water about 200 yards from shore. After dinner, we retired to the topside to enjoy the sunset.
At about 7 pm we were joined by a Tayana 47, OceanAir, on her way to Oakland with the owner and delivery crew. They will be leaving at 12 -1 am and we will follow leaving at 3-4. We will call them for a weather report before heading out to round Point Conception.
Tomorrow is the big day!
