812 BACK IN THE USA, HARBOR ISLAND, MICHIGAN: We pulled out of Meldrum Bay at 9:45am. The sun was shining and it looked like a beautiful day. The winds were to pick up in the afternoon to 15kn., from the west. We were looking at another day of bumpy riding and no sailing. The winds were definitely from the west, but they never picked up more than 10kn. The water was calm, and the ride was fairly smooth and we were bored to death. The trip took 7and ½ hours. We pulled into Harbor Island around 5:15. We called customs and officially re-entered the USA. Then we had a great dinner of steaks, salad and wild rice. The anchorage here is fairly large and very pretty. There is an inner and outer harbor within this island. We are anchored in the outer harbor with two other boats. The inner harbor has more boats, but we did not poke our nose in to count. The evening is very calm and relaxing. Here's a pic of Bob, piloting and bored during our long haul today.
