Another week slips by, but its been good.
A great day in Santiago with Caroline and Ali helped by a long lunch of pulpo (octopus) with herby potatoes. Superyum. They have invited me to join them for Christmas. The chance of getting to the family in London is looking increasingly chancy. Roll on 2nd December, but can’t see things going back to how they were.
Had a meeting at the Red Cross with my team leader, Maria, and looking forward to some action!
Also an evening drinks meet with the ex pats group - really interesting mix of people from Moroccan to Scottish, followed by a Chinese meal and more drinks (all for less than €10!
3rd attempt yesterday with an electrician to get my engine hours meter working again. Previous work turned out to be pretty shoddy. I’m sure it’s fine now.
DRAMA - in my blog 20/10 I referred to an uncomfortable night at anchor near P D Vueltas, the anchorage being right under massive sheer cliffs 100’s of feet high and pretty daunting. 2 days ago there was a major cliff collapse right into the anchorage, which was, thank God, empty due to a S wind making it untenable. I have awesome video footage of the whole thing from someone who saw dust and small stones falling into the sea and started filming. A wave was created, not too big but plenty of people running and shouting. Emergency services came from Tenerife and I think they are still trying to track one person. Any yacht would have been sunk. Scary.

Photo taken of the anchorage and cliffs referred to above.

Have a safe week
Bye now
Roberto
