Delilah's Meanderings

On our last post we were in a slip at the Esplanade Marina on Smokehouse Bay, Marco Island. Since then we sailed back to Fort Myers Beach and are tied up to ball #54 almost at the end of the mooring field. Hopefully tomorrow morning I will move the boat up to ball #36 as someone we know is leaving. Kim is now back home again in Indiana, da da da da da da da. You probably need to be a Hoosier to get that one. This is her one trip back during the season to do taxes and other stuff. She will fly back with Owen our oldest grandchild and he will spend 6 days with us aboard Delilah during his spring break. We hope to make this an annual event with each grandchild in turn ... there are ten of them ... so far!

I thought I would try something different this time. I am going to post the daily journal entries we keep in spreadsheet for the period since the last post. It will give you an idea of how the days go in an outline type form, plus I am getting hungry and want to get this posted! I probably wouldn't have got by with doing this if the Admiral was here. :)

2/23/17 Lunch at Lee Be Fish with Cindy, Steve, Rosie, and Al ... went thru the upstairs art galleries
2/23/17 Rode in Al's truck to Goodland, went to museum and had peanut butter pie at Stans's Idle Hour
2/23/17 Had left over Joey's pizza for supper
2/24/17 Breakfast - cereal aboard
2/24/17 Lunch at Nacho Mama's - shared chicken fajitas
2/24/17 Uber to Naples tax collector to register dinghy, but denied because no boat length on MSO
2/24/17 Uber to and from Naples to register dinghy and to Inflatable boats to get signature
2/24/17 Supper aboard - bowtie pasta with ground turkey, mushrooms, broccoli
2/25/17 Cereal for breakfast aboard
2/25/17 Walked to Tigertail Beach
2/25/17 Tuna on board for lunch.
2/25/17 Share hamburger at Cocomos for supper, stuffed mushrooms for appetizer
2/25/17 Pineapple upside down cake at CJ's for dessert
2/26/17 Breakfast at Hoots, local favorite
2/26/17 Walked thru Left Bank Art Festival at Esplanade - didn't buy anything of course
2/26/17 Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch
2/26/17 Grocery shopping at Winn Dixie
2/26/17 Pork chops on the grill, rice, and salad for supper
2/27/17 Cereal for breakfast aboard
2/27/17 Pulled up anchor at 7:50am, sailed until 1pm, then motor sailed the rest of the way to FMB, no open balls, anchored by Bird Island
2/27/17 Took sink bath, dinghy in, ate supper at Beached Whale, shared Yellow Tail Snapper ... very good
2/27/17 Ran into Steve and Mary Ann on dinghy dock, gave them our red anchor ball to mark Ball 54 because they are leaving in the morning!!! Yahoo

2/28/17 Wind and current opposing and ball got stuck under boat, harbor master got us untangled
2/28/17 Went in to pay and ate at Matanzas on the Bay, Kim salad, Mark shrimp burger
2/28/17 Harbor master replaced pennant with line version so we could tie off at anchor cleat, much better, let the wind come
2/28/17 Went in to shower and eat wings and small pepperoni pizza at Petey's Upstairs, saw Bill and Rose (Elue) there
3/1/17 Cereal and hard boiled eggs for breakfast aboard
3/1/17 Dinghy Kim in to do 2 loads of laundry
3/1/17 Helped Prairie Dog (Ron and Jo) pick up ball 55 next to us, later gave us a small basket she made out of pine needles with a shell from Don Pedro Island in the center
3/1/17 BLTs for lunch
3/1/17 Played scrabble, Kim won easily
3/1/17 Supper at Parrot Key at Salty Sams, Kim had Key West Tequila Shrimp, Mark had Hog fish baked in a banana leaf
3/2/17 Cereal for breakfast onboard
3/2/17 Changed propane tank (lasted little over 2 1/2 weeks)
3/2/17 Dinghy in for showers
3/2/17 Pumped out
3/2/17 Dinghy in so Kim can go to airport, She caught ride with a Canadian couple going to the airport, they would not take any money
3/2/17 Rode bicycle to Topps for groceries
3/2/17 Dinghy in to go to Lani Kai for supper with Bill, Rose, and Lee (Sporting Lee)
3/3/17 Cereal for breakfast aboard
3/3/17 Turkey sandwich for lunch
3/3/17 Dinghy in, ride to Bowditch park, walk beach, ride back, shower
3/3/17 Saw sea turtle and tarpon in mooring field
3/3/17 Ate bratwurst for supper, pear and cottage cheese, carrot stick
3/3/17 Call Jerel to ask about boat registration numbers
3/4/17 Cereal for breakfast aboard
3/4/17 Dinghy in, ride bike to Walmart for Mobil1 oil and other stuff
3/4/17 Called Dad
3/4/17 Peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch
3/4/17 Fix 4 solar yard lights so tops can't come off
3/4/17 Order dinghy paint and stencil kit and holding tank deodorizer from Defender
3/4/17 Invited for supper on "Prairie Dog" for shrimp boil with Jo and Ron ... yummy

3/5/17 Dinghy in, ride bike to Goodz to exchange propane tanki, get card, 6th exchange free
3/5/17 Peppered turkey sandwich for lunch aboard
