Ann
We've had more rain in the past week than we have seen the entire winter! Squall after squall, mainly at night and early am, have come through much to the relief of the locals. Our sails are now relatively clean with the final bits of ash having been washed away. We are motor sailing towards Bequia which we may or may not make, but will decide when we get to Vieux Fort (the last bail out harbor) later this am. There is a fair amount of wind with these squalls, so we have seen 9+knots several times today. It is very warm and very humid, as you might imagine, so the definition of hot and sticky holds character. You know it's hot when your fingers stick to the computer keyboard! The good news is there is no laundry as the costume of the day is a bathing suit. I guess we had better get used to this as it is reputed to be the weather in Trinidad! In the meantime, here's hoping for some sunny, dry sailing through the windwards. Ciao
