HONEYMOON- NIGHT 6

28 July 2013 | Robinson Crusoe Island, Fiji
Rebecca Childress
We put Brick House on land at Vuda Point Marina and then ironically left her a few days later with Avin, the man we hired to sand antifouling paint off the bottom. We decided that he was trustworthy enough and that the sanding, even if it went slower without us around, would be nice to come back to instead of suffer through. It was time for our 6th wedding anniversary - July 4th. Every year we add one more night to our honeymoon.

SO, now we can say when someone asks where we took our honeymoon:
First night in Providencia, Columbia, second night in Huahine, French Polynesia, third night in Savu Savu, Fiji, fourth night in Majuro, Marshall Islands, fifth night in Roi Namur, Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands, and now, night number 6 in Robinson Crusoe Island, Fiji. Who knows where the 7th night will be - seeking suggestions..." We like our yearly dip in to luxury- a night with television, endless hot water, a good meal cooked by someone else, and getting to play tourist honeymooners. Robinson Crusoe Resort was a fun place to hang out with tourists from all over the world. It was a nice break although the enthusiasm for the hot water was a little waned after spending the previous year on an army base with endless hot water. But it was nice to take time to focus on just each other and be newly weds in a non dragging, non rocking boat!

We decided to take the slow route, down the sidewalk..ie the Intracoastal Waterway, the ICW. We went slowly, and smelled the flowers along the way. We are with old friends of Patricks, new friends of mine...Art and Grace Ormaniec, in Manteo, North Carolina.

AT THE END, Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a Ride! And I still have my Arizona driver license!! '
