(Because this trip is going to take us longer than we expected, I'm no longer counting our 3 hrs last Thursday as a Day. Too embarrassing) Well, didn't achieve too many miles yesterday. Using the motor got us back on course, but so slowly. Only 77nm for the day. Frustrating. Today started slowly too. But moving nicely now, because abandoned the attempt to reach Noumea via New Cal's East Coast. Now we're full steam ahead, at 200d, and will go down her West Coast. Will still have to make up ground to the east at some point, but will worry about that later, once we've reached the lee of the main island. Sun shining today, seabirds out, much more pleasant. Wind still strong though, and still SE. Jack's well, but I don't think this trip has increased the likelihood of her joining the merchant navy.
