Hildy and I got underway Saturday at noon with Doug, Anisa, Ethan and Dylan aboard bound for an overnight trip to Block Island. The weather was in the 50's and clear with a fresh breeze from the Northwest. On the way over we encountered a substantial ocean swell from the South which clashed with the wind waves for a good introduction to the rolling sea for all passengers. We stayed at a town mooring (the same one Hildy and I used on our August trip but surrounded by about 1000 less boats). It turns out this was the last weekend of the season for the moorings, restaurants and tourism in general on the island. The wind picked up to about 20 knots for our dinghy rides in and out for dinner at the Oar restaurant making for some wet rides but a good time was had by all (see picture).
