After getting underway at dawn and brief stop to top off our fuel tanks we spent the day on the fly bridge heading across a flat calm Long Island Sound toward New York City. Our timing allowed us to take advantage of a maximum (4.5 knot) ebb current in the East River which made for a quick trip down river but still allowed time for sightseeing.
