After the Elizabeth River

Weather predictions for today warned of rain and possible severe thunderstorms. The sky was overcast when we got started and stayed that way much of the day. By the time we had left the ICW and the Elizabeth River the sun came out - yea. Rich had researched possible anchorages beyond Norfolk and chose one in Mobjack Bay on the west side of the Chesapeake. It's a little out of the way but the extra miles have proved well worth it. We found the perfect spot along with two sailboats and another motor vessel on the East River. There are houses, not mega-mansions, on both sides of the water, an almost full moon above and we are well protected. Is this our favorite anchorage? Just might be, we'll let you know next time. The picture is of one of the 68 AIS contacts we saw while transiting through Norfolk.
