Rich
We left our anchorage in clear 70 degree weather this morning. As we crossed into Maryland at 1 PM the sky darkened and we again began seeing severe thunderstorm warnings and about 4 PM decided to head into Solomons Island, MD as a violent storm passed just to the South of us. The picture is our chart plotter showing the Sirius weather radio output as we entered Solomons. We are the black ship between the storms. We managed to get anchored in a very protected creek just before being deluged with the next storm arriving from the West. We survived it quite comfortably while eating dinner in our very dry cabin. Just afer we anchored Doug called to tell us that he knew just where we were by seeing our AIS position on www.marinetraffic.com. Try it.
