A Fjord in Maine

We found an anchorage today in Somesville Harbor at the head of Somes Sound, which is described as America's only fjord. It passes between some of the mountains of Acadia Park and at the upper end seems like a mountain lake. We went ashore in Somesville, visited its small museum, had a cold drink and then took the hourly free bus that circles all of Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park to Southwest Harbor for some tourism. The weather was warm but comfortable, unlike what we have heard about the rest of the East coast. We ended the day with another beautiful sunset meal aboard Brilliant. Pictured is how the repairman gets to some of the islands with no regular ferry service.
