Life as a Cruiser can be Great

This morning after coffee and breakfast we went ashore and had a long walk. It was after ten o'clock before we got underway. We stayed close in avoiding the fog we could see well off shore and Rich set our course for Eagle Island. When we arrived and pulled in a mooring line we were greeted by a Maine Parks person offering us a ride to the dock in her launch. Yea, we didn't have to put the dinghy back in the water. We spent a brilliant 1½ hours touring Admiral Peary's summer home and library. He purchased the island 1877 and after retiring from his Arctic explorations designed and built the house that still stands. The Peary family gifted the island to the State of Maine in 1967. We are thrilled we stopped at Eagle Island even though the fog found us as we traveled to the Brewer Marina in South Freeport, just able to see the lobster pots in front of us. Brilliant is on shore power for the first time since we left Barrington on June 20th. What luxury - I am listening to the radio and both computers, the camera and two phones are on charge and the generator isn't running.
