We have taken a only a few day trips in Narragansett Bay since returning from Maine and since the weather forecast for the three day Columbus Day weekend was clear and mild we decided to spend it on Martha's Vineyard. We left shortly after dawn this morning and arrived in Oak Bluffs harbor at 2:30. For the hour prior to arrival the wind gusted up to about 25 knots but fortunately was behind us (fair winds and a following sea). We are moored a short dinghy ride from the town and spent the afternoon exploring the village of Victorian homes and gift shops and sampling two of the many restaurants. Tomorrow we will venture further around the island.
