The Wheels on the Bus

Our day's adventure started at a leisurely 10:00 a.m. We discussed riding our bikes but decided in favor of the local bus. The temperature is cool and the breeze stiff and we would be limited in going only to Edgartown and possibly Vineyard Haven. The bus offered an all day ticket, with senior discount, allowing us to stay as long as we wanted at each stop. We made the right decision. Not only did we get to Vineyard Haven and Edgartown but also went to Gay Head, renamed Aquinnah in honor of the original Indian settlers. Today's photo was taken there. Looking over our shoulders is a brilliant view of the ocean from the western tip of the island. We rounded out the day by having a proper pub meal in posh Edgartown after we had toured art galleries representing amazing artists and walked the town's streets lined with beautiful and very expensive homes.
