...and Another

Another short morning cruise through a series of pine covered islands brought us to Frenchboro, about 8 miles off shore on Long Island, which we had first visited four years ago. We are moored in Lunt Harbor and had excellent fresh caught lobsters at Lunt’s Deli on the Lunt and Lunt dock. However, we found out that the island’s year round population is down to about thirty with only two students in the school and that the “old” families that have real ties to the island are not very well represented. We spent the afternoon hiking about a third of the roughly 10 miles of moss and rock covered trails, which cover a large part of the island and are well maintained by the Maine Island Heritage Trust.
