...and One More
21 June 2014 | Little Cranberry Island (Ilesboro)
Hildy
We cruised for 1 ½ hrs. Frenchboro to Islesford (Little Cranberry Island) this morning and for most of the trip we had short sleeve T shirts on with NO additional jackets/sweaters/fleece. After all it's the first day of summer! We've come to Islesford every year we've been in ME and each time we discover something new. This is the first time the Post Office/market was open. Susie, who runs the store, was happy to share some island news with us. She also sold Rich a fresh baked loaf of bread ($2.00) that she was making for Ashley Bryan. Yikes we made off with his bread! We will stop back here later in the summer because starting 27 June there will be a large collection of Ashley Bryan's art on display at the Acadia National Park Museum here on the island. We finished our day with an amazing meal at the only restaurant on the island, and another brilliant sunset. (View is looking toward Acadia National Park mountains)
