Sunday in Northeast
22 June 2014 | Northeast Harbor
Rich
We decided to make the three mile trip to Northeast Harbor this morning to, among other things, buy the Sunday NY Times. The day was again calm, clear and, eventually, over 70 degrees. We revisited the beautiful Asticou and Thuya Gardens overlooking the harbor and then relaxed on the deck of the magnificent old Asticou Hotel, having a drink and enjoying the harbor view. In past years we have not left Rhode Island on Brilliant until about this time and it has been obvious so far that the “season” here and all along the coast of Maine does not really start until July. Less than half the many Northeast Harbor moorings are occupied - they were essentially all full when we were here last July. Coupled with this week’s weather this has made for a great cruise so far.
