A Glorious Fourth

We've had a long and eventful Fourth of July weekend in Camden with all of our children and grandchildren visiting from Providence; our long time friends, the Muellers (also represent by three generations) here from Charleston and Vietman and all of our Camden family already here. It has been a movable feast for five days starting on the 1st when we had two families arrive and then accompany us on Brilliant for the 10 mile ride from Rockland to Camden harbor on the 2nd, a beautiful, balmy day. More arrivals on the 2nd and 3rd were followed by the arrival of Hurricane Arthur on the 4th. It definitely dampened the day but not our spirits or good times. We collectively decreased the lobster population by several dozen over the last five days, including one last feast on the 5th at our favorite local lobster dock in Spruce Head, ME (pictured). Tomorrow we will cruise back to Rockland and all of our visitors will depart except for Jared, who is staying for a week of "Camp Brilliant" and Joe Mueller, who will be leaving on the 9th.
