First Visit
26 June 2016 | Wreck Island, ME
Rich
The weather continued to be magnificent - high 60's, abundant sunshine and calm seas - as we departed at 9 am for a two hour cruise for our first visit to an anchorage off uninhabited Wreck Island in the group of islands called Merchant Row, south of Stonington. The island is just West of McGlathery Island that we have visited several times in the past. Pictured is one of the Camden schooners, Louis R French, about to anchor off McGlathery. We dinghied ashore, walked and then dinghied around the island, but mostly just enjoyed being there surrounded by granite and pine covered islands and sparkling sky and water. The next morning we departed for Camden on a clear but windy day - with rain forecast for the next two days.
