Sightseeing
18 August 2016 | Trafton Island, ME

After our tour of Mistake Island we cruised West for about two hours exploring the islands along the coast. The picture is of a particularly impressive granite island named Shipstern Island. We anchored on the North side of Trafton Island, about halfway back toward Mt. Desert from Roque Island, and were joined by four cruising sailboats later in the day. We didn't go ashore as the island is privately owned but enjoyed a pleasant afternoon and evening on board in calm sunshiny weather. Of note, I have been able to make these blog entries while cruising by using my iphone's "Personal Hotspot" feature as a means of getting my laptop online, despite a relatively weak Verizon signal.
