We started out this morning planning to travel as far as Manhasset Bay to spend the afternoon ashore or even take a train into NYC. But based on the great warm weather, smooth seas , and a four knot tidal current boost on the East River we decided to seize the moment and kept on going through the city to anchor behind Sandy Hook, NJ about four pm. The night here should be much quieter. The view of the city and bridges on the East River was worth the trip but we do miss the spectacular fall colors in Maine. Tomorrow we plan to head into the Atlantic for an offshore transit to Atlantic City.
