We timed our morning departure from Delaware City to catch the tidal current flowing West in the C&D Canal. Surprisingly we saw only one small workboat transiting the canal, whereas yesterday there were several giant cargo ships coming in and out as we passed by on our way to Delaware City. The winds were finally calm as we began the day but did pick up as we began to make our way South on the Chesapeake. We arrived in Annapolis harbor and moored in Spa Creek near the Naval Academy. Our longtime Navy friends, Bill and Sally, who live in Annapolis, joined us for dinner at the Chart House, their favorite local restaurant for an evening of reminiscing. We first met them when Bill and Rich were on the Francis Scott Key together in the late 60's
