Here's a little background information on us. We learned to sail on a Laguna 22 and sailed for years on Medina Lake and Canyon Lake. Then we gave it up for about 20 years to concentrate on other things. In 2009 we bought "Fugue" and began to sail in the Clear Lake/Galveston Bay area in Texas. Since we were living in San Antonio at the time we had a 500 mile trip every time we went to the boat. After a couple of years of this we decided to sell everything and move to the Clear Lake area. I retired from teaching and we put our house on the market. Unfortunately, with the housing market and road construction in our area, it took a year to sell. However, we accepted an offer at the end of July 2012 and spent the next month having an estate sale to get rid of most of our stuff, giving away the rest on Craigslist, and helping our son move into his new apartment with the cat. We closed at the end of August and moved to the boat. We have spent September and October doing seemingly endless projects, including having the boat hauled out for a bottom job, new prop and rudder, and other repairs. However, we're almost finished with preparations (have crossed most things off our lists) and are just waiting on a few more things and hope to be ready to go next week. We are planning to head to Florida via the ICW and then to the Bahamas. Can't wait!
