The view from our boat this evening
We left Titusville this morning intending to anchor just south of Daytona Beach near Ponce Inlet. Unfortunately when we arrived we found out they were dredging in that area so we had to keep going an extra 10 miles. That means we had a 47 mile day. Our anchorage is right off the ICW so it will be easy to get an early start tomorrow. This time the plan is to anchor at Ft. Matanzas, but we'll see how that works out. Along the way today we saw several manatees - they are so big and slow. (Maybe they think that about our boat!) We also saw a pair of beautiful roseate spoonbills near Ponce Inlet. As we were watching them a big hawk swooped down over our boat and scared them away. The hawk ignored them - I guess he was after something else. The scenery today was varied: residential areas, a manmade canal, a 15 mile long lagoon, curving riversides and an ocean inlet. It seemed there was always something new to see. All in all it was another great day of travel.
