Best laid plans

The view through our dodger.
Sometimes I wonder why we make plans. Fortunately we always allow for alternate stops along the way - we do our research and make notes. Today's goal was only 28 miles away but we knew there might be some problem areas at low tide. The current was against us (again) for a lot of the way but the scenery, like yesterday's, was interesting. Then we got to a shoaled in area where the marker was very close to land and it was low tide. We crept in but still ran aground on our first two attempts. On our 3rd course adjustment we got through. Then a little further on we had to detour around dredging equipment. It rained off and on during the afternoon. Then just as we got to Fernandina Beach (5 miles from our goal) the nasty thunderstorms we had seen in the distance caught up to us. Plan B! We took a mooring here for the night and will see what the weather is like tomorrow.
