Key Biscayne to Rodriguez Key
16 April 2014 | Rodriguez Key, Florida
Breezy and cool, scattered showers
Rodriguez Key from the west side
We attempted to make this trip yesterday, but the wind and waves were on our nose and our speed was too slow (half what it should be) so we turned back to No Name Harbor and waited until this morning. Today was much better! We motor-sailed about 50 miles, running in and out of showers, but no heavy rain. It was cool enough all day that we wore jackets with our shorts and T-shirts. There wasn't too much boat traffic, but we did get waked a few times by power boats. Due to wind direction, we anchored on the west side of Rodriguez Key (which isn't listed as an anchorage but was fine - good holding in sand).
