Fishing party!
We left Marathon heading north with a nice weather forecast (on all our sources) for several days. We survived the crab pot maze to Little Shark River, in the Everglades. It was an easier run than last year when we went south - there weren't as many crab pots, although still plenty to keep us both on our toes. (Basically, we were both on watch the whole way: one to drive while the other helped look for crab pots.) After a nice motorsail we chose our spot, anchored, and relaxed with adult beverages.
Then we saw a houseboat come in from up the river, followed by another identical houseboat and 4 fishing boats. Turns out it was 8 guys on a fishing trip. They rafted up the houseboats and all the fishing boats, then sat out on the roofs in their folding chairs and enjoyed their sundowners. Entertainment for us - we had never seen anything like that before!
