Settled in for a week

Today we moved to the Fort Myers Beach mooring field, run by the Matanzas Inn. It's very reasonably priced, with good showers and laundry facilities, so we decided to stay a week, enjoy the beach, and get some tasks done on land. From our anchorage we couldn't really tell how windy it was and how choppy the waves were. We didn't check weather for the 3 mile trip across the bay. So it was a surprise when we got out of the lee into the rougher water. No real problem, other than the fact that there are crab pots in the bay and they're a lot harder to see in choppy water. But we managed to avoid them and the anchorage here is very calm, although we still get enough ocean breeze to keep us cool. We have seen dolphins and rays moving around the mooring field, so there must be a lot of fish too. I'll try to get some beach pictures later in the week.
