Back to Treasure Cay 26o 40.3 N: 77o 17 W April 11th to 16th The beach is beautiful, and we now have cruising friends Bob and Rhonda who own a condo at the Marina, so this seemed a good base to wait out the next front(s) [thunder and lightning, lots of rain, gusts 25+ and wind patterns which kept cycling around].
April 13-16, 2018 HEAVEN was moved from Treasure Cay back to Great Guana for a night 'snugged in' behind the lea of Crab Cay (once again). After conferring with other cruisers back at Nipper's, it was decided we needed to go out around The Whale and up to Green Turtle Cay, a day earlier in anticipation of brother David's arrival on the 16th.
Good Choice. A beautiful sail up from Great Guana, past Baker's , out around The Whale at almost high tide, brought us into Green Turtle Cay. All but one mooring ball was taken in White Sound (north side), and in rising winds, we tried to pick it up- three times to the 'amusement' of everyone else, but not ours....until we realized that there was no viable leader line and our windage was a detriment. We tried several locations in 'the weed', finally able to get the hook down next to another anchored boat near The Green Turtle Club dock. The best for last: as if to acknowledge our hard work and numerous attempts, a dolphin came by the sugarcoop, rolling over to show it's white belly with a decided SMILE.
