Why Do Problems Always Happen At The Last Moment??

Geez...I hate when that happens. This morning our refrigeration unit died...Don tried not to panic. What? No cold beers on the passage south. That would be terrible. Forget about all the food I prepared ahead of time in the freezer! But after messing with it for a few hours, somehow it's working again, thank goodness. And me, I tried to do a test blog remotely (using our single sideband radio and pactor modem) and couldn't get it to work. My first thought was - oh no - my family and friends won't be able to see our position at sea and may get worried. Then I realized something else...I won't be able to get detailed weather reports...shit! So I used our very last bit on internet time posting the last blog telling all you good people not to worry, we are fine and will contact you when we arrive in New Zealand. Then I tried to think outside the box to fix my more important problem. I decided to ditch the new laptop (with Windows 8 that sometimes causes me headaches on other subjects). I pulled out our old Dell, my sturdy old backup and will now try posting remotely with it. I'm about ready to push the button...let's see if this works or not. Fingers crossed.
