Island Imaginations

I took a couple of long walks on the Island. Landing on the beach in relative calm conditions and then walking the short distance to the windward side showed the two personalities of the place. One was quiet and welcoming (except for the sharks – we were warned off the water!) the other fierce and foreboding – with the wind screaming through the surf creating a sand blasting effect on exposed skin.
From the ground the island is shaped like bone. It is sandy with low lying scrub. Apart from birds I saw no other evidence of wildlife unless you count the beach-side fire with the bones of a what appeared be a leg of lamb (or were these human remains! the imagination is off again!), crab shells and beer bottles!
The photo was taken from the top of one of the dunes and shows the three yachts peacefully anchored in the bay. You have to be careful when anchoring here though as the bay contains many areas of shallow coral. Its easy enough but one needs to watch the approach and pick a sand patch carefully.
By the way I have now seen Table Island and yes one could construe it laid out for seafood feast with participating giant patrons.
