Pretty Dismal

There are several free docks we could have stayed at on our way from Hampton, Va to Elizebeth City, N.C.
Downtown Portsmouth with a classic movie theater is one. Great Bridge with shops, groceries, and restaurants is another. Then there’s the Dismal Swamp Canal.
Along its 22 miles, cruisers can tie up at any one of five stopover docks and enjoy the natural beauty.
We prefer to “do” the Dismal!
