Gorgeous sail for first half of the day. 7 knots, flat calm, and some boost from the current with a WNW breeze on the beam. It died promptly at noon but we needed to top up the batteries with a little motoring anyway.
Steve's first trip through the Cape Cod Canal. A little spooky, almost no one on the water. Like everyone has canceled their boating plans for the week because of Earl. Not to fret, Calypso and her crew will be at Block Island Wednesday night and safely tucked into a secret hidey hole in Connecticut by Thursday night, 24 hours before Earl comes to town for a brief visit.
