Long, low, sandy beaches, not a rocky granite outcrop or a spruce tufted island to be seen. But the ocean temp in Great Salt Pond is 83 degrees and the air temp is 77 degrees now at 9:30. Ok ok.... life is a series of compromises!

Motored down the glassy calm Buzzards Bay and then amused ourselves for several hours tacking back and forth in Block Island Sound trying to figure out how to make the VMG get above 3 knots to our destination.

Mind you I'm delighted we weren't bashing into a smoky sou'wester!
