Steve's lucky rabitt's foot

Sunny, hot hot! Yeah I know this is a little tiresome...
Steve continues to defy the wind predictions and bring the good ship Calypso pleasant sailing conditions. We had a steady 15kts in the harbor this morning and were anticipating a boisterous 15-20 on the nose out in Block Island Sound. Lo and behold it was 10-12 knots with a virtually flat sea all the way across and the wind shifted obligingly to the SW so we could lay the entrance to Fishers Island Sound with only a small tack right in front of the grand Victorian hotel at Watch Hill. The current swept us along to the west for the next four hours, close hauled.
Another installment of Ain't Technology Grand !
While we were approaching the entrance to Fishers Island Sound we noticed a tiny airplane making low passes at several sailboats. As old Calypso had a similar prior experience, we quickly deduced soon we would have our photo taken. He made three swoops by Calypso at 100 feet off the water. There were no markings on the plane such as BoatPix.com and I realized with the dinghy up in the davits there was no way he would see our name. However, Steve was busy taking pictures of the plane and when we zoomed in could easily see his registration number. Moments later on his Ipad, he looked up the number on the FAA website, found the owners name, googled him and "yacht aerial photography" and presto, there is his email address. He had an email from us waiting for him before he landed!
