Whoo hoo!
04 September 2010 | Mystic Seaport
Sunny, drier, 80, breezy
Woke up at 2:30 this morning to a star filled sky. Earl is toast!
Our friend Fred was in Hamburg Cove with his Gulfstar 37 Sagitta. He is loaning Calypso a Winslow liferaft for the winter. Thanks Fred!
The morning was cool and crisp, a welcome change from the moist air mass of the last few days. By the time we got back to the mouth of the Connecticut River, it was honking a steady 20kts from the west with gusts to 30. We made a beeline back to Mystic Seaport muscling Calypso through the choppy seas of Long Island Sound. With a full ebb current we saw VMGs of 9-10kts!
Christine was there with Meggie!
